![]() ![]() The only way I would find changing the name acceptable, would be if CA did a 4 pack where they added a Kurgan and Hung character while also adding more to the Norsca theme. And when Norsca actually gets a pack, maybe they will. Granted, this could(and should) be made clearer by changing the race name. It's an expansion of the scope of the themes they're already using. It's like having a DE LL in the HEs.īut adding additional Chaos tribes to the race that's used to represent all Chaos tribes is not that at all. Aranessa is the thematic opposite of the Vampire Coast. ![]() Good example is Aranessa is in the Vampire CoastCompletely disagree. I’d be more than happy to see Kurgan and Hung cultures. CA will include whoever they think will add to the game. Vampire Coast is a place with a seafaring narrative DLC and many people expected Aranessa with other similar possibilities so, it’s not a surprise or a mistake she was included. Good example is Aranessa is in the Vampire Coast, which is wrong, so should Jaego Roth be added as well? After all, they already through one character in there who isn't a great fit, why not another one? Also, my idea was, turn them into Northern Barbarians so you can add more cultural touches to them and give them more options. Is Throgg and Wulfrik a Norsca character? I think there’s some give and take when it comes to Norsca as it’s made up of WoC characters so, in a sense they can come from anywhere. Why should the NORSCA lord be a NORSCA character? Why should the next Empire lord pack be an Empire character instead of a Brettonian? It’s not quite as silly as it sounds since it was done repeatedly by both the Saxons and the Vikings. Indeed there’s Sayl the Faithless who is an undivided Chaos Sorcerer who leads one of the Kurgan tribes who’s canonically both invaded Cathay before (Tower of Ashair) and trapesed across the sourthern Darklands, fairly near where MK lives in the Mountains of Heaven.Īs an aside, wrt raiding London from the Thames. The Hung are the tribes in the vicinity of Cathay’s eastern coast. ‘Norsca’ in TWW seem to represent the tribes of Chaos in general since both the Kurgan and the Hung tribes elsewhere in the wastes use the Norscan race.Īctual Norscan tribes are geographically a bit far from Cathay to really fight them, but Kurgan and Hung are right next door so make complete sense to be vs Cathay. Norsca is sea raiding vikings right? Do they exist around the southern chaos wastes too? Could they attack Monkey king from the south or east coast? Sailing up Cathay rivers would be like raiding London from Thames. 2K A Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.847 A Total War Saga: Fall of the Samurai. There is nothing more satisfying in a Total War game than setting up four regiments of archers to unleash their arrows on a marching enemy, zooming the camera down to ground level, and just watching the chaos unfold. Still, something felt missing from my units. It took me seventy turns before I turned my gaze south and began my campaign to demolish the Empire, and I was pretty confident in my ability to send endless waves of berserkers and marauders into battle to overwhelm my opponent. This is offset by being surrounded by only other Norsca races which means that battles are going to be fought face-to-face for quite some time before you have to worry about being outranged. I am quite fond of running massive armies with a vast number of ranged units to decimate my enemies before they even reach my melee units. While I do love the theme of the Norsca, honestly, it is probably my favorite race addition so far. Unfortunately, this led me rather dislike the combat aspect of the race. Like I said, while the Warriors of Chaos are thematically like the Germanic hordes of the Roman era, the Norsca are very clearly Vikings. The Norsca have three unique hero types to choose from to craft your perfect servant of Chaos as well as new berserk and rage abilities to use in battle. What sets the Warriors of Chaos and Norsca apart are what happens behind the scenes of battle. These two races look different thematically but still function much the same way. While the Warriors of Chaos are a mix of humans, Ogres, and daemons, the Norsca are focused on Trolls, Wolves, humans, and even mighty mammoths. The Norsca is a heavily Viking themed race, with a big focus on pillaging and sacking provinces to erect massive monuments to the Chaos Gods. The first is, “Why didn't they just call it ' Total Warhammer'? The second is “When will I get more Norscan tribesmen? Well, it seems that Creative Assembly has at least addressed the latter question with the release of the Norsca race pack, which comes with the Norsca humans and the Wintertooth trolls. Every time I think about Total War: WARHAMMER, two thoughts have crossed my mind. ![]()
